BKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY FASHION ACADEMY FASHION SHOW

This past May, I had the pleasure of hosting the Brooklyn Public Library’s 5th annual BKLYN Fashion Academy Fashion Show.

It was my 2nd time hosting and I was so excited to be invited back.

The BKLYN Fashion Academy is an intensive program where we prepare designers of all stages to launch their fashion businesses or careers. With the support of dedicated Business & Career Center Librarians and program instructors, designers learn the skills they need to run a successful fashion business. In the process, designers stretch their creativity by creating mini collections that they get to present as a final fashion show

This year the theme was Ancient Egypt: Gods of the Runway!

I was excited to host because supporting creatives is vital to their success. It was also a pleasure to be at the Brooklyn Public Library to remind the community that libraries are STILL relevant.

They offer community, support and education for everyone from  youths to seniors!

Yes! People DO still go to the library - for solace, quiet, to study, for community, to listen and to learn.
