Life & Work with Tamiko White by VOYAGE LA

THANK YOU @VOYAGELA FOR FEATURING ME!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamiko White. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Tamiko White, founder of White Noise Consulting and creator of #NOWTrending, is a fashion entrepreneur, creative brand consultant, media personality, and author.

As an experienced storyteller, Tamiko has worked with an impressive list of clients over the past 25 years- in front of the camera and behind the seams- to help everyone she works with build an inedible and profitable brand.

Tamiko has owned her own fashion showroom, has been the marketing director for global brands, and is a former adjunct professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Her capabilities include marketing, brand managing, fashion media production, and creative direction.

Adding author to her CV, Tamiko’s first published book, CAREERS IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY, is a glossary guide to jobs in the fashion industry. Her widely read “Trend Statements by Tamiko White” are released quarterly to teach fashion creatives how trends influence their business. Her weekly “Accessories are Punctuation” edits for the Accessory Council highlight what’s happening in the accessory industry.

Additionally, she has written over 15 e-books that teach creative brands how to build solid businesses. Currently, Tamiko consults brands, creative directs and contributes her fashion expertise to television and magazines. Passionate about sharing her vast knowledge and keeping her community informed about the business of fashion, she is a contributing writer who offers her insights about the ever-changing fashion industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Funding, client acquisition, marketing and life have all impacted my business path.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My unique experience and career path set me apart and I am proud of every part of my journey bc it all matters. Nothing is wasted -no meeting, call, experience, interaction or lesson.

I am a natural storyteller. I help brands tell story – whether as a hand model (L’oreal, Campbells soup, Bayer, St Germain ads running now), creative consultant, creative director or brand strategist. I love using clothing, accessories, music, art, and culture to convey impactful stories. I understand how powerful stories are-how; they resonate with people and can influence them for a moment or a lifetime.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I wish I knew to get funding from the beginning. I bootstrapped from the start and that was extremely stressful/ Also, there will be many ebbs and flows but keep going!
